Hello. If anyone remembers me, I used to read and post here quite often, and thought that perhaps you'd like to know the latest adventure.

As you may remember, six weeks ago I had my ears pierced - at my advanced age I finally developed enough courage to go through with it. The six weeks is up.

Last Sunday I was going to cheat and take the piercing studs out and wear some of the lovely new earrings my lovely daughter gave me for Christmas. But I didn't cheat. I couldn't get the backs of the studs off. Yesterday my daughter-in-law came over and I asked her if she'd try to get the studs out/off. She couldn't get the back off either.

Today I got the 14K gold earrings that I ordered from the QVC shopping channel (yep, I've gone almost completely around the bend), and I was determined that those studs were coming out. They did. My ear lobes were red and bruised and tired, but the studs are out.

New earrings are in - with no small struggle there either. The left one went in fine. The right one wouldn't go in. I took my trifocal glasses off, stepped (in)to the full-length mirror to focus on the hole in the right ear - it was there. At least the front hole was there. Focusing even harder, I bent the ear lobe up to see if there was an opening on the other side. There was. So I positioned the pointy part of the earring straight-way into the front hole, holding the ear lobe still so the back hole would remain lined up with the front hole.

I'm bearing up well. No need for get well cards.

See ya, doris
